Acroama's Toon's Series

My latest project came around from going through the many hundreds of songs that were started but could never figure a way to make them full tracks. So, i thought that I would finish them off and upload them.

Called it the "Toon's Series" because I thought it would be interesting for everyone to listen to them and think about the mood and vibe each track broadcasts and think of a character or cartoon character to go with the tune.

The first one is a tune called "Henry". Think about what Henry would look like, how old is he, whats his "story"?

The third in the series is titled: Rose. What would rose look like and what would it (remember, it doesnt have to be a human)

Starfish

So then ladies and gents, my first ever music video was completed in the early hours of this morning.

The song itself remained untitled until I finished the video and then dubbed it "Starfish" for obvious reasons.

Well. It's here!

My debut album is launched on the 1st April 2011 and no, its not an April Fools joke.

In this post, ill take you through each track and explain a bit about the pricing system.

I chose this time round to do the "radiohead" option - Let people pay what they want for it. You can either download it for free, or pay whatever you want for it. Could be 50p, could be £5 - It's up to you.

Proxima Centauri

This track is a very slow, laid back dubstep track. While making the track, it reminded me of the times I used to play EVE Online and the soundtrack of that game.

Sunshine

This is a very laid back beat i put together. Perfect to max and relax to on a fine July afternoon with a smoke and a beer.

Acroama & Toasty's World Tour

Another beat, but this time round I use the very capable skills of DJ Toasty who's a turntablist mate of mine. Kudos to you if you know the classic riff on this track.

Donkey Punch

This track was originally made about 2 years ago but I dug the original out of its mess and gave it some life and a much darker feel

Frankenskank

The track that the album is named after. A very uplifting dubstep track with some insane LFO action.

Interlude

A heavily reverb interlude track with some chilled drums and percussion.

Missing Link

I took the theme tune to "Zelda: A Link To The Past" on the SNES and gave it my own feel to it. 

Pinhole

A very dark electro track with some very low end bass

Motivation

A stonker of a track here. Feel free to burst into a freestyle and send it my way.

Do The Shuffle

A shuffley dubstep track here with some strings to vibe to.

0700

Titled this because 0700 in the morning was the time I finished it. Came back from the pub all buzzy and worked pretty much worked through the night finishing this Jump Up beast.

My First Toy

Inspired by artists such as Kelpe and Harmonic 313, this is a very wonky, broken, off beat electro track remembering the days of toys like the speak and spell.

Here Comes The Sun

Dark RnB Remix

Was in the mood to remix a classic RnB tune and came up with this.

Doesn't really fit into an Genre or Sub-Genre that I can think of other than Drum and Bass.

Although the track is 90 BPM it switches up to 180 BPM which can be slowed to DnB speeds.

Not really fussed that it doesn't fit into a pigeon hole though.

Serial Cut

This, bizarre piece, is by a guy called Serial Cut. Doesn't have a name, as far as I'm aware but was probably designed for a website or something along those lines. Very original

Illus - Feesh Meelo

 My favourite artist, Feesh Milo has drawn up a few scene's titled "Illus" and... well... wow. Love them.

British artist Feesh Meelo has created these absolutely crazy sketches and would love to see these developed into final pieces. They remind quite a bit of the characters from Invader Zim that used to show on kids TV about 5-8 years ago (which I love and still watch, very "Ren and Stimpy" esc). 

   

Mike Friedrich

This fantastic piece titled "Characters" is by artist Mike Friedrich. As soon as I saw this I fell in love with it and might consider getting a large print of it for the crib.

Would be nice to see a fully colour version of it, bringing each character to life.

Let 2011 Begin

2011 is going to be my year.

I plan on pushing my mixes out to lots of blogs to speaking to lots of promoters to get some more live sessions going.

I've got a heavy mix lined up for my mate G that's leaving us to embrace the sunny lands (well... wet lands currently) of Australia so will recording a 1-2 hour long mix for his flight. Would do a 28 hour long mix but there isn't a legal method that will allow me to stay up for that length of time. I plan on releasing this to the world as well so that everyone can benefit. I might also get around to finally compiling my album. Several tracks are finished and they have been pushed out through here and through my soundcloud page so you may have already heard them but more are in work.

I've been experimenting quite a bit new unique sounds and trying to creating something a bit more interesting than just your normal everyday copy and paste generic genre's and have been happy with what I've been making but am quite far off actually showcasing these to everyone. in due course, a select few may be granted permission to criticise these tracks but for the time being I'm keeping them close to my chest.

Photography is also love of mine so will be incorporating my photo's into the website so expect a portfolio to be added to the website. I mainly take macro photo's and photo's of nature, urban scene's and portrait shots but also, thanks to having a lot of mates into BMXing, skating and blading, take "action" shots but you'll get a chance to see these soon.

Expect alot of updates very, very soon.
